Camera analysis

Frame,Angle,Movement (FAM)

This frame is from the opening scene from skyfall. This frame is known as the 'over shoulder shot'.  they have used this to gain perspective as to where James Bond is heading. Here the camera is having to pan left and right as he moves around the building. The angle of the camera in this frame is neutral.

This is an example of a medium shot. The have used this to show you what he is wearing and minor detail on his facial expression. Also you can see in the background also. The camera having to pan right as the car pulls up. The angle of the camera here at this point is neutral.

Here you have an example of a long shot, of the car driving off. This is used to show where the car will be heading off to and where the car chase is going to take place. In this frame the camera movement is static and the angle is neutral.

This is an example of an close up (CU). This is to show some detail in the facial expressions as you can see in this fame where Daniel Craig is obviously fighting against something, and can create tension in the scene. Although you cant really see it in this shot the camera movement is track, because it is following the car chase, however the camera angle is still neutral.
Here we have an example of a Mid long shot (MLS). Here you can see the persons figure and their actions, for example if they are running, or holding a gun as is the case for this guy, as you can see. Here the movement of the camrea is track again to keep up with the chase, and yet again the angle is neutral.
This is an example of an extreme long shot (ELS). The effect this gives is it allows the person watching to take in the scenery and setting, and in this case where they are going to be chasing on. The movement of the camera here is panning left relatively slowly to show you the chase, therefore doesn't need to be track. The angle of the camera is high.

Finally this is an example of an extreme close up shot. This is great to catch every single bit of detail in a characters face just like you can see on this character whilst in a fight with Bond. Here the movement is tilt, the camera is going up and down to show both faces. The camera angle is low.
